About me!
I trained at the Kent Institute of Art & Design in Maidstone and Bretton Hall College of the University of Leeds, in Fine Art Painting & Printmaking.
Since 1997 I have been working from various studios, in Bingley, at Sanderson George and Peach Gallery in Holmfirth, West Yorkshire, and now at home in Deal, Kent.
“For some time my work has been based almost exclusively in still life, with the things I surround myself with in my home and studio forming the main source of inspiration. Recently I have become more selective in my choice of subject. Often the objects have a connection to someone I know or have been given to me by family members. I like the idea that although the paintings depict objects and landscapes, they are in some way about people too. I also have a love of the sea and of the weathered natural surfaces of pebbles and driftwood, and also of ceramics, all of which directly influence my choices of surface and colour.”
